On Monday, December 5, Officer John Harris of the Russellville Police Department who is assigned to RIS and RMS, graduated from the Criminal Justice Institute in Little Rock after completing the 40 hour School Resource Officer Basic school.
School Resource Officer’s serve unique roles in law enforcement as they also perform as teachers, mentors and counselors on the school campus. The SRO basic school is designed to provide newly appointed school resource officers with the knowledge and skills they need to effectively understand and perform these important roles.
Students enrolled in this course gained a working knowledge of the school resource officer triad concept and how to establish a lasting partnership with the schools. In addition to classroom instruction, students learned how to develop and present lesson plans as if they were instructing in a classroom setting.
Congratulations, Officer Harris!!

As a reward for doing a great job in PE, students were entered into a drawing to win festive holiday socks. Congrats to the Gale Holiday Sock Drawing winner! #GalePROUD
